How to switch to TCCU Checking:

  1. Open a TCCU Checking Account! Start by choosing the checking account that’s best for you. We offer free checking and interest-bearing checking, with options for free online access, free bill pay, overdraft protection and much more. Design your checking account to meet your needs. To open an account, apply online or come into a branch location near you.
  2. Start the SWITCHING process. Now that your TCCU checking account is open, you can stop using your old account. Stop using your debit card or writing checks on your old account. Bring your old debit card(s) or checks to TCCU and we will shred these items for you. Continue watching your old account until all of your outstanding checks or debits have cleared.
  3. SWITCH your Direct Deposit to TCCU (Download PDF). Complete the form we have provided and give copies to your payroll department or any other institution that deposits money into your account automatically. Be sure to include a voided TCCU check or deposit slip with the form.
  4. SWITCH your automatic payments to TCCU (Download PDF). Complete the form we have provided for each item(s), which automatically debits money from your old checking account. Mail or fax your completed form(s) to your merchant(s) so they can switch your automatic payments to be taken from your TCCU account. Please be aware that it can take 30 days or more for an automatic payment to be changed.
  5. Close your old checking account (Download PDF). Once all of your checks and debits have cleared and your direct deposits and automatic payments have been redirected to your TCCU account, you’re ready to close out that old account. If you have any money left in your old account, complete the closed account request form and the remaining money will be sent to your home address.
